Once all of the techniques were used on the costume, a classmate and I decided to do our photo shoot together as we had similar ideas on the location and make up etc. We knew we needed to take the photographs in a graveyard at the quote says 'as a man started up from among the graves at the side of the church porch', so we looked for local graveyards to see if they would be appropriate for the setting. I am personally really interested in make-up and hair, so we decided that I would do the make-up on the model we choose.
We thought that in our industry collaboration is such a big part of the work as you are always working with different departments for example Costume department works with the lighting department to make sure the lighting won't effect the colour of the costume on stage. We wanted to include collaboration in our project so we asked a photography student from another campus of our university to take the photos, and used a model from another campus. We were lucky enough for them both to do it for free but it benefitted all of us as the photography student used the final images for his portfolio mentioning our names for the costumes.
make up
I found images of theatrical make-up that I could use as references for the make up I would apply to the model.
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
I went ahead and did the make up on the model using things I had at home.
Final outcome
Final Photographs.
