The Moon

I started to look at images of the moon, using the internet and library books, here are some interesting images I have found so far...

I went to the science museum to try and gather some inspiration, I found it quite useful.

I was really interested in the moon and I decided I really wanted to incorporate this into my set.

The texture of the moon was really fascinating and I thought this could be recreated using polystyrene for example as you can cut out unusual and jagged shapes from it.

I tried to recreate this effect using modrock, it looked quite effective as it created a lumpy rugged effect. I would obviously need to work into it to make craters and rocks from it.
